Line Following Tennis Ball Shooter

Grand Slammers

Emily Miller, Olivia Mason, Jesus Salcedo San Marting, Kerolos Gerges, Tina Souriyavong

A tennis ball launcher that follows a line.

Remote Controlled Mobile Trebuchet

Chevrolet Trebuchet

Zachary Barrett, Jared Anderson, Mena Lotfy, Kerolos Hanna, Seth Cranford

Taking the dark ages to the modern ages.

Remote Controlled Mobile Trebuchet

Nuts and Bolts

Jessica Shackelford, Madison Smith, Andrew Lusk, Reem Al Kiar, Brendon Cox

Mobile Trebuchet.

Robotic Cat

Mr. Catdog

Nikki Sanders, Michael Makowski, Kirollos Maximos, Sloan Brown, Cyeisha Hall

A robotic quadruped.

Robotic Dog

Cerberus

Jacob Fawcett, Ryan Parker, Adam Blythe, Nawaf Almutairi, Sumeet Ramdass

A robotic quadruped.

Rubik’s Cube Solving Machine

Cubers

Miles DeBoe, Kayla Boles, Bavly Samuel, Cassidy Morris, Haidy Basha

Rubik’s Cube solving machine. Uses Raspberry Pi to detect colors on cube, then uses 3d Printed Servo arms to manipulate the cube.

Automated Garden

EGrow

John Provost, Adam Bartlett, Noah Lance, Jeffery Skinner, Octavio Ayala

This project built an automated garden. Controlling parameters such as moisture level and humidity, the garden is solar powered and can be connected to a garden hose. A custom smart phone app allows the garden to be viewed and controlled remotely.

Automated Garden System

NCFI

Chase Berthelson, Caileb Reed, Jacob Hendrixson, Barry Adereti, Derek Lipinski

This automated garden was constructed with a wide variety of plants in mind. The garden can control lighting, temperature, humidity, and moisture level to keep the plants growing 24/7.

Automatic Temperature Tester

Ocean’s Five

Daniel Reissner

This project is a contactless temperature tester that would be installed at entry points for a building. The system gives clear instructions on the screen then reads the subject’s temperature before providing a release for entry.

Compact Cafeteria

Five Guys

Miguel, Jose, Noah, Nick, Darwin

This project built a bagged lunch maker. The machine can extrude a peanut butter & jelly sandwich then wrap it and bag it along with selected treats and drinks.

Ping Pong Grabber

Andrew King

Andrew King

This video shows Andrew Kings Senior Electro Mechanical Engineering Technology Project. It uses photosensor to detect the presence of ping pong balls in a tray then when detected it moves them to a cup.

Transfer Die Stamping Machine

Custom Foil

a

This project built a stamping press to shape and cut foil. The machine uses only 2 actuators to perform multiple stamping operations, making it more efficient than a typical stamping press.

Axiom Rolling Bridge

Axiom

Lindsey, Elijah, Wesley, and Samir

Our project is a bridge that will roll up when a boat is detected trying to pass. It uses ultrasonic sensors to detect a boat and strain gauges to detect if there is anyone on the bridge.

Materials Poster: Aerogel

The Power of Air

Samuel French

This poster examines the material Aerogel. Who would think that something made from 99.8% air could be a good thermal and electrical insulator? The inventors of Aerogel could see the potentials ranging from home insulation, to clothing, even useable in car parts.

Materials Poster: Silicon

More than Computer Chips

Asma Mohammed, Nikki Sanders, Kaycee Sexton

This poster examines the uses and properties of silicon. This material is best known for it applications of computer chips, but has equally wide ranging uses in many other fields.

Materials Poster: Titanium

Stronger than Steel

Phillip MacDonald, Patrick Schulze

Research of the uses and applications of titanium, a very versatile material used in consumer goods, aerospace, and even medical technologies.

Pneumatic Catapult Aircraft Launch System

Enola Gay

Aseel Asiri, Garrett Greer, Kellie Beadle, Sloan Luae

Our project is a Pneumatic Launcher for remote control aircraft. It uses compressed air to launch remote control planes into flight over a compressed distance. During launch, it registers obstructions in front of the runway, as well as logs flight statistics such as velocity, acceleration, and the number of launchers per period.

RC Airplane Launcher

Rail Systems

Reece Freeman, Kenton Schuett, Thomas Collier, Matt Poston

This project is an RC Airplane Launcher. It uses compressed air for propulsion and can be operated by a foot petal leaving the operator’s hand firmly on the RC transmitter.

The Rolling Bridge

The Rockin’ Rollers

Kirollos Khalil, Scott Lapinski, Lakisha Duncan, Patrick Mann, Zahra Almatar

The Rolling Bridge is a moveable bridge that can be placed over a body of water for pedestrians to cross when it is open (unrolled), at the same time allowing water crafts and boats to pass when it is closed (rolled). The bridge is operated automatically (with the sensors) when boats are approaching the bridge the horn will start an alert sound and the lamp will flash letting the pedestrians know that the bridge is closing. The same for when it is opening. The bridge can also be operated manually by the user using the buttons on the control panel.

The X-Plotter

X-Men

Rylie Jost, Ruslan Sukhovetskiy, Kurtus Kobeck, Andrew White

A 3-in-1 Desktop CNC machine that can Mill, Draw, and 3D Print.
